We hired David’s BBQ for our wedding — but what we got was so much more than catering. Bobby and Alicia became our caterers, decorators, coordinators, and honestly, our best friends for the day. From the moment we reached out, Bobby was a force. His communication was excellent, and he helped us understand what was possible within our budget while working with us to find exactly what we envisioned. We met several times: once for the tasting and initial vision, once for his planning workshop, and once more to drop off the final check and sneak a peek at the signage. Every meeting left us feeling more confident. Finding Bobby and his team was a genuine lifesaver. He’s like a one-man band who somehow does it all. All of the décor from signage to tablecloths (except the florals) was provided by Bobby. He proactively sourced more of the pieces we liked, and gave us invaluable insight into how weddings typically flow so we could make informed decisions as non-wedding professionals. One of his best suggestions was to go from table to table to dismiss our guests for dinner since we weren’t planning a traditional receiving line. It ended up being one of the major highlights of the entire day for our guests - such a personal, heartfelt touch. By the time we arrived at the venue, everything was already beautifully set up. All we had to do was walk in and take it all in. The food and service were outstanding — do not let the word “BBQ” fool you. The dishes were delicious, well-seasoned, high quality, and served by a friendly and approachable team. We received countless compliments - especially on the meatball appetizers and his citrus brandy chicken sauce. The brisket was melt in your mouth divine. Bobby truly is the ultimate one-stop shop for wedding needs. He was the heaviest hitter of our entire day, and we are so grateful we found him. We used David's to cater and provide decor for our wedding in October 2024 and we could not have asked for a better experience. Bobby was fantastic to work with and he worked tirelessly to accommodate any food or decor needs we had. Nothing at our wedding got more compliments than the food. Our guests commented that it was the best prime rib they had ever had at a wedding, and all of our appetizers were a huge hit. As far as set up and clean up went, Bobby and his team were very efficient. It was such a relief not having to worry about things like setting up decor. Bobby is very thorough and made sure he knew exactly what we wanted during our wedding workshop. From that point on, he just worked his magic and everything turned out just how we imagined! We hired David’s for my daughter’s wedding 4.20.24. We worked with Bobby and from the initial consult, to the tasting, final phone call and every email communication Bobby was thorough, organized, had the level of detail and hospitality we were looking for in a catering team. Bobby and the entire catering team exceeded all expectations on the day of the wedding, arriving early, handling everything with precision and an extreme level of detail. Two days after the wedding I am STILL getting rave reviews about the food! We had some very refined pallets in attendance from culinary and hospitality backgrounds and so many of our guests remarked that it was some of the best food they had. (Leaving out wedding food completely ! - “the best prime rib ever had” “those potato’s were amazing!!!! I went bs m for seconds”. “ that dill honey salmon was to die for” “the spinach salad was high end restaurant worthy” are some of the remarks. I have spent almost 20 years in the hospitality and wedding industry. With so many options for a catering team, you will not be disappointed with the professionalism, level of hospitality from all team members, bonus decor options and food quality from Bobby and his team! If I could give more than 5 stars I would. The David's BBQ team hit it out of the park from decor, to food, and organization, it was all amazing! Bobby and his team really know what they're doing and any bride shouldn't worry on wedding day because he's got it covered! The food... was absolutely to die for!! All of my guests talked about the brisket for weeks afterward, saying it was the best they've ever had! The fact that they're not just a catering company, but a whole event company, with decor, plates, napkins, makes it so much easier and less stressful. Definitely use them!!

Bobby and his team are absolutely amazing. The personalized care and attention to detail goes unmatched. We had a charcuterie grazing station prime rib, whipped mashed potatoes, & more, it was absolutely delicious. The assistance with decor was a huge relief and their things are stunning! They came up to me and asked me appetizers and drinks the groom, and I would like to have given to us after the ceremony , and once we made it down the aisle, there they were with drinks for both of us and a plate of appetizers before we got rushed into pictures. Very affordable Very tasty food Wonderful staff They are a must!

Their customer service, pricing, quality and taste of food items and drinks, bartending service & complimentary decor service are unmatched in the North Central Florida area. Bobby, Alicia and their amazing team impressed us from our initial tasting, various meetings/workshop, day of service & correspondence afterwards. My husband and I had nearly 300 attendees at our wedding and this staff was more than ready to take great care of us. They accommodated all of our changes and we’re flexible throughout the year and a half we worked together. I will continue to sing their praises to everyone I know and look forward to frequenting their restaurants anytime I’m in Gainesville.

David's BBQ was the best decision we made for our wedding. Bobby truly wants your day to be so special. The food was 11/10 and the catering crew was so much fun as well! The reception was gorgeous and I owe it all to David's for so much attention to detail. We had so much food left over that we were able to feed everyone again the day after the wedding. My husband and I used David’s for our wedding catering, bartending, and decorating and their team was an absolute pleasure to work with. Bobby Perry is in charge of the full service catering and he is amazing. We met him for a tasting and he sat and talked with us for over an hour. Many people assume that David’s is basic barbecue, but there are options to make the meal a little more fancy if desired. For example, we chose to do asparagus instead of green beans and citrus brandy chicken instead of chicken on the bone. We also chose brisket and they cut it on a carving station for the buffet rather than it being pre-cut. The package that we chose also had three passed appetizers for cocktail hour and we were able to choose from five or six options. We later met Bobby for a decoration workshop to plan our table centerpieces and all other decorations. This decoration workshop is included in the event price, but we were unable to finish it all in one day and he was more than happy to meet us again to finish planning. He will also make custom signs for your event such as welcome signs and this is also included in the price. The day of the wedding Bobby and his team arrived four hours before the ceremony to start setting up and my mom and I did not have to lift a finger, which was amazing. I gave very little direction and their team did an awesome job setting up to include the entryway, isle decor, cocktail hour decor, table centerpieces, and buffet. We have received many compliments on the decorations as well as the food. David’s catering truly is a full service catering group and I highly recommend them!

Bobby and his team are truly one of a kind and amazing. Their team had assigned us a couples caterer for the night and she was so great. Bobby is THE person to have on your wedding team. He works incredibly hard to make sure every detail is perfect. The decor warehouse is everything you could ever want. The food is delicious. He made everything easy and FUN. Our ceremony threw a curveball with the weather, and he handled it without any issue. I really don't think we could have pulled everything off without him. If there was one person who made me feel at ease about my wedding day, it was Bobby from Davids BBQ. He truly was an expert at this but still made you feel comfortable and included your opinion. While there were a few tweaks I would have made, I can say nothing negative about him through out the whole process. They set up our rehearsal dinner at the venue beautiful, did our centerpieces, and provided a fabulous meal. Not one person complained about the food or not getting enough to eat. If you’re going to spend a little extra money on something it would not be wasted at Davids BBQ. Delicious food and full service catering. Great communication and customer service. Couldn’t recommend them more.

We loved working with the David's BBQ team. Everyone was fantastic before, during, and after. I personally worked with Bobby and Alicia beforehand, and Kristina, Sookie, Evee, and a few others at the wedding. They were all super friendly and very personable and made sure everything ran smoothly. The food tasted exactly the same as the tasting we'd had almost 6 months before, and considering they also handled our bartending, were extremely affordable. We have no regrets, and would hire them again if we ever have another event.

We just had our wedding last Friday and I had to write a review for couples looking for an amazing caterer! Bobby is who runs this business and he is a wedding genius! he lives for creating the best atmosphere and food for your special day. We had a personal server that waited on us hand and foot, made sure we had drinks and food all day and night. This guy really has it figured out! They offer many food options, (shrimp and grit shooters were the bomb!) Entrees, sides, salad! everyone of our guest complimented the food and service that he provided. He made the process effortless and answered every question I had leading up to our big day. Bobby and David's BBQ is top tier in every way! He also has an entire warehouse with decor options, plate ware, signs, literally everything! Can't express how great this choice was for our special day!

My experience with Bobby and his crew was nothing short of amazing. The best part about working with them, is that they also assist and provide all decorations for the table, ceremony, reception ,cake table, bar. Their staff was friendly and interacted so well with all of my guest. Their food was hot and plentiful. The guest were all well fed and the food was delicious. They provide you with a concierge service and bring food and drinks to you while you are getting the photos taken in between the ceremony and the reception. Everything they do is thoughtful and attentive to every need for the bride and groom. They made each and every guest feel special as well. Bobby answered every email that I sent him through the entire planning process in a timely manner. He was open and willing to discuss all ideas that I had. He is also very creative and brought so many of his own thoughts and ideas to the table and made everything go so smooth. I highly recommend him and his team for weddings or any event you may have as they took a usual stressful situation and made it completely carefree for me and my husband. I am attaching photos below to show his creativity and ideas to make the venue look absolutely beautiful. All of this is included in his cost.

There are so many amazing things that I can say about Bobby and his team! He was so timely to respond to all of my (many many) questions, my husband and I booked him without even doing our tasting first. Every interaction we had at David's BBQ and Catering was nothing less than exceptional. Bobby brought us in for a tasting, as well as a workshop to assist in creating some of our wedding decor with things that he has in his warehouse! He even went above and beyond in personalizing our table numbers with my husband's and my favorite cities! All of the food (including passed hors d'oeuvres: chicken and waffles, pinwheels and glazed meatballs to the late-night snacks: soft pretzels with cheese and funnel cake fries) was so delicious and the only complaint I heard was that guests couldn't stop eating! Bobby and his team were a huge part of our big day and helping to make it the best day ever and I would highly recommend hiring them for any catering needs!

I first ate David’s Bbq at a wedding expo. The food that they had for people to sample was amazing. I gathered a pamphlet that day and contacted Bobby for a complimentary food tasting. Bobby was very quick to respond and made sure that he made whatever you was interested in trying. Also, if you decided to book them for your event, he also provided the decorations for the event as well. Our reception was cancelled due to the first covid out break, but we told Bobby that we were going to stay hanging in there until the next year. He had all of our decorations done and was excited for our event. So, once the next year rolled by we kept in touch and of course we changed all of the decorations, but Bobby made everything I asked for come to light. We were Bobby’s longest customers, but it was worth the wait. Bobby and his staff was amazing and so professional during our entire event. The decorating was phenomenal and exactly how I pictured it to be. If we ever planned another event, we will most definitely go with David’s BBQ catering.

I first had a meal from David’s BBQ event menu at a Valentine’s Day event I went to. I was floored at how amazing the food was. Bobby, caterer from David’s BBQ, makes the best mashed potatoes and chicken and waffles!! I knew I would have them at my wedding. I set up a tasting and realized how much extra things you get over just a normal caterer. Bobby has an entire decor warehouse that you can use included with your catering package. I received SO MANY compliments about how amazing the food was. David’s BBQ catered my rehearsal dinner as well and my family and guests couldn’t believe how amazing the food was. Many wedding I’ve been too had mediocre tasting food and staff that seemed uncomfortable and stressed working. David’s is not like that!! The food is impeccable. The staff is professional and fun. They blend in and don’t draw attention to themselves but were comfortable with my guests and were a lot of fun! David’s BBQ is so much more than just BBQ. Schedule a tasting!!! You won’t regret it! They are the absolute best. My husband and I had a server appointed to us only and he was phenomenal! We never had an empty glass. After our ceremony he was waiting for us with glasses of water and a cool rag (May in Florida is HOT!). You will not be disappointed with David’s BBQ! I can’t recommend them enough! Davids BBQ catered for our wedding and my gosh were they AMAZING!!! Bobby had a beautiful vision of what we wanted the reception and tables to look like and was able to use decor owned by David’s BBQ to set most of our tables up (for free) which looked magical. Not only that but he communicated in a timely manner and was patient and happily worked with us as we changed our guest count every week. The whole staff at David’s BBQ had a smile on their face and had such good servant attitudes, willing to help out wherever they were needed. Bobby and his team of caterers from David’s BBQ were absolutely spectacular at our wedding. As the couple getting married, we literally had all of our worries taken care of by Bobby. He is very detailed oriented and made sure that we were attended to during the reception. They met us with drinks and towels right after the ceremony and made sure we had a plate of food at our sweetheart table ready for us after our first dance. There were no regrets in booking with them. We would do it all over again with David’s BBQ catering at our side!

Bobby of David's BBQ&Catering promised committed, constant, and perfectly timed service and he DELIVERED. We were waited on hand and foot, which was above and beyond what we'd ever ask for. He or his staff were waiting in the wings at every key step of the event to make sure we had water, a towel, a drink, etc. Before the wedding, they were a pleasure to work with - letting us mock up the place settings, getting decor that matched our requests, and going the extra mile to customize a catering plan exactly to our vision. They were also very accommodating with our schedules - normally when we met, my now-husband and I had a limited amount of time because of work and meetings; David's BBQ were respectful of our time and adjusted our meetings to make sure everything was covered in the time we could be there.

David's BBQ exceeds expectations. I cannot stress how much Bobby and Alicia did for us. I'm not the biggest fan of BBQ, and going into our initial taste test, I wasn't intending on booking with David's, but the quality of the food and Bobby's pitch on helping with decorations and some of the logistics of the wedding completely changed my mind. Bobby and Alicia were very flexible, updating the invoice every time we made a change, and nailed the recipes we provided for our preferred appetizers and signature drinks. In addition to cooking and serving the food, David's took care of setting up and tearing down all the decorations and tables at the reception venue. Bobby used a combination of decorations we provided, as well as some of his own, and even made signs for us. When we realized that we didn't have linens, Bobby and Alicia took care of arranging the required rentals and added the cost to our invoice. On the day of, Bobby and his staff went out of their way to make sure that my husband and I got our food and drinks, and acted almost like a second set of coordinators. Bobby did seem a little forgetful at times during the planning period, mixing up times and some details during in-person discussions, but with all the different events he's dealing with at the same time, I can't say I wouldn't do the same. This slight hiccup did not affect the final outcome of the wedding in any way; everything went perfectly the day of, and we couldn't be happier with our choice to hire David's BBQ to cater or wedding.

My family cooked the meat for my wedding so I had David's cater the sides and Bobby was my bartender. Bobby and Alisha were wonderful to work with, extremely responsive and helpful. The sides they catered were delicious, the guests raved about how great the loaded mashed potatoes and baked beans were! Bobby also did an amazing job bartending and was so wonderful to have around at the wedding.

We worked with David's for our wedding reception, they were fantastic! Chris the catering manager was super helpful through the entire process and was willing to let us change things around a bit to better fit our taste/budget. The entire staff was awesome & really helpful during dinner. We also had bartenders through them, who let us make our own "creations" & they were a hit! I would definitely do business with them again food was delicious and couldn't ask for better people to work with!

Every interaction with David's BBQ was a pleasure. We were sent home from our tasting with boxes of food to enjoy later and the food was exactly what we wanted for our wedding. The BBQ made the event fun and personal while we were still able to mix it with more of your traditional wedding type food items.
